GEEARS’ Early Childhood Changemakers (EC²) are connectors, storytellers, and champions for our state’s youngest children. Working in their own communities, they build, train, and lead powerful networks of advocates who strive to make Georgia an even better place for families to raise their little ones.  

Connect. Engage. Activate! 

You are here because you’re a leader in your community. You’re a parent or caregiver, an educator, an employer, or entrepreneur. Most likely, you wear many different hats when it comes to making change.   

You’re eager to jump into action when you see potential to make your community a better place for all young children, willing to enlist and empower friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues along the way.   

Building a Better Tomorrow

Strengthening communities means starting at the beginning—children’s first five years. During this period, the most consequential brain development of a lifetime occurs at a rate of one million new neural connections every second. Early childhood experiences, whether good or bad, will reverberate through the rest of that child’s development.   

The Early Childhood Changemakers will. . .  

• Engage with families to understand their needs, share resources, and elevate their voices, all with appreciation for Georgians’ richly diverse experiences. 

• Help transform everyday people into connectors, storytellers, and champions that operate as a grassroots network of early childhood advocates helping to influence policy decisions.  

• Collaborate with the GEEARS staff and other Changemakers around the state to share resources for maximum impact and lessons learned.
