Atlanta Early Education Ambassadors
The Atlanta Early Education Ambassadors are a group of involved parents, grandparents, teachers, and community members that lead pre-k recruitment and early learning advocacy efforts in targeted communities in Atlanta. This team of Ambassadors serves as advocates and community leaders for early education in Atlanta Public Schools’ Washington and Douglass clusters.
The program launched in early 2018, in partnership with Atlanta Public Schools. In preparation for their work in the community, each cohort of Ambassadors will participate in a series of workshops that focus on the value and benefits of high-quality early education for children, their families, and the community as a whole.

APS Cares is a resource search tool that helps individuals find access to support services by zip code. These services include financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or low-cost help.
Apply for Pre-K Programs within City of Atlanta
Atlanta Public Schools offers free Pre-K at 36 schools across the district. Pre-K classrooms are located in both child care facilities and elementary schools. These classes operate according to the APS calendar and run from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Quality Rated Child Care – Search Tool
With over 6,000 state licensed and monitored child care programs to choose from, the Quality Rated search tool can help you narrow them down. This tool allows families to view the program’s safety and inspection reports, hours, prices, teacher credentials, and transportation options. Parents can even search along their commute! It’s time to take the guesswork out of child care.
