Georgia is often touted as the best state to do business. How would you ensure that it is also the best place to raise young children?
"There are a number of steps that our state can implement to improve the lives of our children. We should provide additional funding for pre-K and raise the pay for pre-K teachers. In addition, reimbursement rates for care providers should be higher.
I also support efforts to address food insecurity and poverty, such as funded meals in school and a refundable earned income tax credit. In addition, all children in our state should have health insurance and access to health care.
We also need to adequately fund K-12 and provide for safe and secure environments in all communities. This includes reducing pollution, eliminating lead from water, and making investments to address climate change.
In sum, we need to make long-term investments that will further our children's educational opportunities and health."
