Georgia is often touted as the best state to do business. How would you ensure that it is also the best place to raise young children?

“Georgia’s success as the best state to do business should go hand in hand with being the best place to raise a family. In the State House, I’m proud of the work we’ve done to invest in high-quality early childhood education and making childcare more accessible and affordable for working families. Georgia has already made important progress by strengthening our Pre-K program and increasing support for childcare. Quality childcare depends on attracting and retaining talented educators and helping providers expand their capacity can benefit both children and the businesses that depend on a reliable workforce. We must make sure young children have access to the health care and developmental services they need during the most important years of their development. Parents should not have to navigate unnecessary barriers to preventive care or early intervention. I will continue to reduce the red tape parents face when trying to access services. The goal should be simple: give every Georgia child a strong start, give parents the freedom and support to work and raise their families, and ensure that every community has the opportunity to thrive.”
