“Raising young children successfully requires a multi-pronged approach, from ensuring the health and wellbeing of parents to providing access to affordable healthcare and childcare opportunities for children. Establishing adequate maternal AND family healthcare, providing affordable childcare options, guaranteeing that our children our fed year-round, and funding preK programs are just the start to ensuring that Georgia is the best place to raise young children. We must also continue pushing for better gun safety legislation, so our children are free to embrace school without the fear of gun violence. Addressing the homelessness crisis is another crucial step to ensuring Georgian families have the resources they need to raise their children in safe, nurturing environments. If we cannot address the needs of both parent and child, from health and safety to shelter and food, then we will never truly wrap children in the nurturing environments they deserve to grow up in.
