Georgia is often touted as the best state to do business. How would you ensure that it is also the best place to raise young children?
"While Georgia is a good state for business—sadly, not the best—it needs to be a much better state for the people who work in those business if we really want to create the strongest possible economy for us all.
Consider an LGBTQ parent or the parent of an LGBTQ youth: Georgia offers no workplace civil rights protections and limits their access to healthcare and family services.
Consider a women not yet ready to start a family: Georgia denies access to abortion without exception for rape, incest, or the life of the mother.
Consider a family trying to prepare their kids for adulthood in the 21st century: Divisive topics laws and weaponized book challenges undermine the quality of our public education system by taking education out of the hands of professional educators and librarians and putting it into the hands of elected officials more concerned with the next election cycle than accurate, meaningful, and representative outcomes that benefit our communities and property values.
I want to live in a Georgia where I can raise my kids to be their best authentic selves. A state where they want to live and work, where they feel safe, and where can afford to raise the a health, hardworking, and creative next generation."
