GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students invites you to join us for lunch with your youngest constituents (and their families) on Thursday, February 6th. The occasion? A special event called Strolling Thunder.

Strolling Thunder brings families with young children to the Capitol so they can tell their stories about the joys and challenges of raising infants and toddlers in Georgia. You’ll get a chance to speak directly with these families who will lift needs such as:

  • Improving access to quality child care
  • Strengthening Georgia’s Pre-K
  • Ensuring stable health coverage
  • Investing in maternal and child health
  • Supporting financial well-being
  • Improving access to paid family leave

Join us anytime between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM for lunch in the freight room at the Georgia Freight Depot. We’ll serve delicious fried chicken and all the fixings from This Is It! Southern Kitchen & Bar-B-Q.

We may also try to connect with you at the Capitol in the morning, but lunch will allow you to connect with families and their young children. The kiddos may even ask you to join them for a pic in our photo booth or some block-building in our play area—a great way to decompress after your busy morning under the Gold Dome!

Thank you for your leadership on behalf of Georgia’s youngest children and their families. If you have questions about Strolling Thunder or our lunch event, please contact Jessica Woltjen at jwoltjen@geears.org or call/text (252) 675-0695.
