Join GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students for a virtual celebration on Friday, August 27, 2021, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
GEEARS has been making an impact on early childhood policy in Georgia for over a decade. And, while we cannot gather in person, we still hope to see you on screens as we celebrate our past successes, unveil our new strategic plan, and recognize our partners and leaders. In addition, our program will include a panel discussion on some of the most urgent issues our state faces.
As our state and nation work to rebuild our economy in the wake of the COVID-19 health crisis, we know that many industries are plagued with worker shortages. At the same time, according to McKinsey, as many as two million women could leave corporate America or choose to downsize their careers due in large part to the stress of caregiving demands. If these trends are left unaddressed, they will exacerbate existing inequalities and reverse decades of progress toward an inclusive economy for women and people of color.
What innovative strategies can the public and private sectors adopt to ensure that working parents can thrive as employees, caregivers, and community members in a post-pandemic world? What policies can we adopt to ensure that employees reenter the workforce quickly and smoothly?
We are thrilled to have special guest speakers join us for a conversation around supporting our workforce and their families as our nation returns to work following a challenging public health crisis.
